Interim Govt. of Bangladesh Keen to Elevate Bilateral Relations with China: Nahid Islam
China has been a long-standing friend of Bangladesh, with deep historical and cultural ties between the two nations. The interim government of Bangladesh is keen to take the Bangladesh-China bilateral relationship to new heights, stated Mr. Nahid Islam, Advisor to the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during a meeting with the Chinese Ambassador on Monday, September 30, at the office of the Posts and Telecommunications Division.
Chinese Ambassador Yao Wen remarked that under the leadership of the interim government, the situation in Bangladesh is gradually stabilizing and will continue to improve. He emphasized that regardless of the political situation in Bangladesh, the strong relationship between the two countries would remain intact.
Mr. Nahid Islam expressed his gratitude to the Chinese Ambassador for sending a medical team to treat those injured in the anti-discrimination student protests.
The advisor further noted that the primary objective of the interim government is to reform and rebuild the state structure. He mentioned that just as China achieved significant economic growth following its revolution, Bangladesh seeks to learn from China's experience, as the country too has recently emerged from a revolutionary period. He stressed that China's advice and cooperation would be vital for Bangladesh’s reform efforts.
Ambassador Yao Wen expressed confidence that the interim government could build a new Bangladesh through its reforms. He also extended an invitation for Mr. Nahid Islam to visit China.
Mr. Islam concluded by stating that he believes China will play a crucial role in advancing Bangladesh's digital economy.

Mushfiqur Rahman, Secretary of the Posts and Telecommunications Division, Shish Haider Chowdhury, Secretary of the ICT Division, Song Yang, Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Embassy, and Cui Yifeng, First Secretary of the Chinese Embassy were also present at the meeting.
